Ever since Apple bailed on the Macworld conference in 2009, organizers have had to come up with inventive ways to maintain interest in the annual expo. This year, that involved recruiting actors Ashton Kutcher and Josh Gad, both of whom star in the forthcoming Steve Jobs biopic jOBS. On January 31st, Kutcher and Gad will take to the main stage at Macworld — again co-branded as "iWorld" this year to account for the wild popularity of iOS — and share what it was like portraying Apple's legendary duo of Steve Jobs and Steve Wozniak on the big screen. It's sure to be an interesting discussion, with the event coming only days after jOBS is set to debut at the Sundance Film Festivalbefore a wider theatrical release this April.
But celebrity appearances don't end there. None other than will.i.am will be on hand to join Intel futurist Brian David Johnson for a wide-ranging discussion on the future of technology. If his musings at CES were any indication, this could prove just as memorable as the Kutcher / Gad chat. Apple may have walked out the door years ago, but Macworld has succeeded in creating buzz around its conference for at least another year
